We’re always excited to see ideas come to life and we’re really looking forward to watching the progress of this new-build Eco house between Peebles and Innerleithen.
The design is centred on principal rooms with generous corner glazing and a covered balcony orientated to make the most of an amazing southerly view across the river and hills of the Tweed Valley.
We responded to the challenge of the steeply sloping site by opting for an ‘upside down’ plan arrangement, and the airtight construction, high-performance insulation and renewable energy systems will ensure that this is a comfortable, low-energy home.
The house is completely off-grid with its own dedicated water, power and drainage systems. It has been designed to have very low energy use with an ‘airtight’ construction and high levels of insulation, air source heat pump heating system and a MVHR ventilation system.
