2-storey extension with cantilevered terrace
- Client: Private domestic client
- Project Size: 90sqm
- Location: Edinburgh
- Status: Complete
A new 2-storey extension has been added to this 1930’s house in Edinburgh, replacing the existing conservatory.
On the ground floor, the kitchen was relocated to the rear to form an open plan kitchen-sunroom, which leads on to a south-facing, cantilevered terrace with a frameless glazed balustrade allowing uninterrupted views of the garden. The living room was enlarged, with sliding glazed windows opening onto a covered deck and terrace.
The primary bedroom on the first floor has been enlarged and an ensuite, walk-in wardrobe, and dressing area formed. The bedroom opens to a large terrace sheltered by the gable roof, offering spectacular views over the garden, the Water of Leith, and to the Pentland Hills beyond.
