Removal of an existing conservatory and the client’s desire for some open plan living provided the opportunity to rework compromised cellar accommodation. It enabled us to form a split-level ground floor and also maximise the space available at basement level. The result is an open plan kitchen/dining room opening down into the family room and out onto the landscaped garden. Lowering the floor of the cellars meant that a playroom, utility room and wc could be added to support busy family life.
At first floor, a full refurbishment of the bathroom, master bedroom and ensuite was carried out and externally, the flat roof of the new glazed extension extends to create a feature canopy connecting with a newly built double garage of extruded linear blue brick.
