School Refurb

Refit of School Office, Library and Music Tutorial Room

Having previously worked as part of a team who delivered new art room facilities at The Compass School in Haddington, cb3 design were brought on board to assess and reinterpret specific areas of the Listed school building to maximise their potential. We carried out an assessment of the school’s admin operations - interviews with staff, a storage audit and on site observation - to completely rethink the School’s Admin Hub - increased storage, improved sightlines and security and a significant upgrade to the staff working environment.

We also redesigned the existing Library space to make it accessible to students in both the junior and senior schools, recognising the differing requirements of the wide spread in ages. The bespoke furniture was designed to accommodate differing heights, book types, display and both recreational and study needs.

Within the roof space an existing store room has had conservation style rooflights installed and been refitted to create a music tutorial and practice room, which has been acoustically sealed from the classroom spaces adjacent and below.
