Finished Pieces

The last couple of weeks have seen the fruition of many hours of work with a number of our Scottish projects coming to completion.  We are delighted with the results but more importantly, our clients are too!

Attic Conversion:

Double height entrance hall with stair leading to attic room with a view. kitchen alterations, cb3 design, Scottish Borders, Architects
Double height entrance hall
In Bemersyde, the stunning views across the Borders countryside inspired our clients to take action. cb3 design were commissioned to convert the attic into a ‘Room with a View’ in the form of flexible living space. The opportunity was also taken to address the lack of an appropriate entrance to the home – a double height entrance hall has been formed which better suits the scale of the property.

Central Stair
The living space is accessed via an open stair rising from the newly formed double height entrance hall.
The layout allows a visual connection through the spaces, and the volume gives a real sense of presence and light on arrival.
Both the clients and ourselves are delighted with the finished product with thanks going to the contractor Curtis Welsh who did such a great job.

Internal Alterations & External Works:

remodeled kitchen with views through new window to courtyard. cb3 design. Peebles. Scottish Borders. Architects
New Kitchen with views to Dining room and Courtyard

A little closer to home, here in Peebles, is this beautiful kitchen alteration.
While the floor area has not been increased, the introduction of windows and a large roof light has completely transformed the feel of what was once a poorly lit and impractical space.
The client’s stunning choice of kitchen only enhances the feeling of space and light.

Externally, the garden level immediately outside the kitchen has been significantly reduced in level to open out into a new courtyard accessed from both the kitchen and the dining room, all framed by a new rendered boundary wall with feature recessing.

All that remains is to complete the decoration and some external works and hope for a great summer!

As always, a successful project outcome relies on the effective collaboration of the key players – the client, the architects and of course the contractor, so thanks to Keith and his team at Renwick & Weir.
